DESCRIPTION:Abstract: How can you accurately and easily scale events to trigger at a given time in a distributed system. This is a critical task for many asynchronous systems – Kafka for example has a timer system which helps it decide when it ought to next check its queues for new input. But there are other excellent examples of highly scalable and accurating timing systems such as the one implemented in the Erlang run time system.
