Welcome to HFPUG!

About us

We are programmers of all levels of ability and experience who are enthusiastic about functional programming and interested in learning more about its languages, techniques, philosophies, and paradigms. From beginning programmers to industry veterans, all are welcome at the Houston Functional Programming User Group.

Meetings

Whether functional programming is your job, a hobby, or you’re just curious, we hope that you will join us at our next meeting. HFPUG meets on third Wednesdays from 7-9pm. Our meetings are hybrid: we meet in Houston at Improving and via Zoom. (If you arrive at Improving and find the doors locked, please text/call us at 863-732-8773 to be let in.)

Details about our upcoming meetings and how to join us are available on the calendar and via our mailing list. Unless otherwise specified, all events are free of charge and open to all.

Calendar

Have HFPUG events automatically added to your calendar and kept up to date by pointing it to https://hfpug.org/?post_type=tribe_events&ical=1&eventDisplay=list. Or just go to the calendar, scroll to the bottom and click on the “Subscribe to calendar” button that provides specific options for Google Calendar, iCalendar and Outlook.

Speaking at HFPUG

Are you interested in speaking at HFPUG? Whether it’s for a short “lightning” talk of 5-10 minutes, a tutorial or a conventional presentation, we’re always interested in hearing about what you’re working on and/or have recently learned. If you have an idea for a talk, please contact us at hfpug@hfpug.org.

Keep Connected

Join our mailing list to be informed of new meetings, job postings and other occasional announcements of interest to the functional programming community. We’re also on Twitter, YouTube, and Meetup. You also contact the organizer at hfpug@hfpug.org or 863-RECURSE (863-732-8773).
